Together we can change the odds for families and communities

Education, Financial Stability & Health A Project of Education, Financial Stability & Health

We all win when students succeed in school, families are financially stable and people are healthy.

With your help, we can change the odds for children, families and our community as a whole. United Way of Central Maryland's work focuses on the building blocks of a self-sufficient life: education, financial stability and health.

Did you know more than 1 in 10 central Marylanders live below the poverty threshold, and 345,000+ don't always know where their next meal will come from? How about the fact that the number of homeless students in Maryland has more than doubled in the past five years?

United Way will ensure your donation goes where it's needed most in the community, and to programs that are held accountable for measurable outcomes.

How can you help?

When you make a gift to United Way of Central Maryland's Education, Financial Stability & Health fund, you help people get access to things like healthy food, housing and health care -- to stabilize their lives, along with supportive services like case management, financial literacy and job skills, education and other resources that allow them to work toward success.

Gifts of all sizes make a difference. For example:

  • $52 can supply 5 pounds of produce to a hungry family each week for a year
  • $260 can provide 4 months of employment readiness training to a homeless individual
  • $1,000 can help a person stabilize his or her life with 1 month of permanent housing

Together, we can build a stronger community for all!
